We became aware of a community support event being sponsored by Northstar Steel and Pike-Delta-York Schools, through the organization Let's Build. which had a one-day event to build 150 bed frames to be donated to families in need. The big push was to amass volunteers for the event. They only asked for a commitment of 3 hours in the morning or afternoon, and no carpentry skills were needed. The event was exceptionally well organized and set up as an assembly line from raw wood stock to finished products. The Lodge has always aimed to be more involved in community service activities and saw this as a great opportunity to help the event organizers on a worthy cause. A big thank you to the brothers of Fulton 248 for taking time out of their Saturday morning by volunteering. I learned this was an annual event, so we will be sure to mark our calendars for next year.
